How it works
Set it once and let it work.
Active, pinned, audio-playing, and already suspended tabs are automatically excluded. Chrome internal pages and tabs that Chrome cannot discard are never suspended.

Your data never leaves your device.
Idle Tab Sleeper makes its decisions and stores its settings entirely on your device. It requires no account, uses no analytics or advertising, and does not communicate with an external server.
Information processed on your device
The extension processes tab URLs, domains, titles, last-accessed times, tab states, and a boolean indicating whether a form has been edited.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect or store form values, passwords, page content, images, personal information, or authentication credentials.
External transmission
User data is never sent to the developer or a third-party server. It is not sold, shared, used for advertising, or used to determine creditworthiness.
Storage and deletion
Settings such as the suspension interval and excluded domains are stored in Chrome's extension storage. Removing the extension also removes its saved data.
Permissions used
alarms is used for scheduled checks, storage stores your settings, and tabs identifies and suspends eligible tabs. HTTP/HTTPS host permissions are used only to detect whether a form has been edited so a tab with work in progress can remain awake.
Remote code and third-party disclosure
The extension does not load external JavaScript, WebAssembly, or other remote code. User data is not sold, disclosed to third parties, or used for advertising.
